Why You Should Train Like an Athlete
by Yuri in Weight Loss
If you’re new to Fitter U Fitness, then let me start off by saying that this training program is not your “run of the mill” bodybuilding or fat loss training program.
Nope. Not at all.
Fitter U Fitness is all about getting in the best shape of your life by training like an athlete.
There a number of reasons for the need to train like a “pro”. Today I’d like to share perhaps the most important of the lot…
Athletic Training Burns More Fat
Aside from Major League Baseball players, how many athletes are overweight?
In fact, I’m sure you’d be hard-pressed to find many athletes that are not ripped, defined, and have low body fat percentages.
The reason is simple – athletes train a lot and, therefore, they burn a lot of calories. But they don’t just move their bodies, they do so in a way to promotes fat loss.
For instance, when most athletes hit the gym, they don’t sit on a bench and do isolated biceps curls or read a magazine while doing leg extensions.
Instead, they are busting their *#S with full body movements like cleans, snatches, overhead squats, pull-ups, squat presses, and the like.
The difference these exercises make is profound. Not only do they help the athlete become stronger and more powerful, but they also help him/her burn more fat. Full body movements elicit a lot of muscle activation, which in turn burns more calories.
Since they usually strength train 3-4 days per week at a high intensity, the added muscle they develops helps them to raise their metabolic rate even further, which also helps them burn more fat.
The combination of full body strength training with a higher overall workout intensity makes for a lethal fat burning duo.
