Fitness and Fat Loss – The Missing Ingredient

Millions of people strive to improve their fitness level. Perhaps even more are interested in fat loss. But the fact still remains that are very small percentage of these people ever realize their goals!

Why?

There are number of reasons from diet to training methods but I think one of the biggest and most overlooked “secret ingredients” to fitness and fat loss success is not having someone to push you and motivate you.

That’s probably the most common reason why people hire a personal trainer, right?

No matter how motivated you may be you can always get more out of your workouts if you have someone there to workout with you, to push you, to be accountable to.

My challenge for you today is FIND SOMEONE that will be your coach or workout buddy. The difference will be very evident.

In the meantime, here are a few tricks I’ve learned that will help you push yourself a little more during your workouts:

1. Write down your workout ahead of time OR follow a proven fitness program

Just the simple fact of following a plan can so much more to your workouts. Instead of coasting through your workouts not knowing what to do or stopping when you feel like it, following a something in writing OBLIGES you to complete it. Very powerful.

2. Challenge yourself by adding 1% each workout

We like to be challenged. It gives us something to work toward. Try lifting 1% more weight or doing 1% more repetitions each time you workout. Overtime, that 1% can quickly add up and you’re fitness and fat loss goals will be knocking on your front door. 

3. Work against the clock

This is a great trick. Personally, I can’t stand working out for more than about 45 minutes. Therefore, what I do is literally set a timer which ensures that I get my entire workout done in that time. I also listen to my iPod workouts which keep me on track and are already timed for me. A great thing to have when you don’t feel like thinking and want an amazing workout.

There you go! 

Add these 3 fitness and fat loss workout tricks into your workouts and you’ll be flying in no time. But don’t forget – you need to find someone to push you that extra 1%.
