How to Lose Belly Fat and Get Rid of Love Handles

One of the most common concerns people have is how to get rid of their love handles and how to lose belly fat. It seems that above all else, a lot of people want a flat stomach and perhaps even a six pack.
And I can’t really blame them. I fit into that category too.
After all, why wouldn’t you want less belly fat considering that abdominal fat is highly correlated with 2 big diseases – diabetes and cardiovascular disease!
Sit Ups and Ab Crunches Do Nothing!
If you think that sit ups, crunches, and other abdominal exercises will help you burn fat around your waist, then you couldn’t be further off course.
Think of it this way…
To burn fat, you need to be burn a lot of calories. Specifically, you need to burn 3500 calories just to burn 1 lb of fat. Now, small abdominal movements like sit ups do not engage nearly enough muscle to even begin burning those calories. Sure they’ll help you “strengthen” your abs but you’ll never actually see them if you have layers of fat covering them up.
So the goal is to use full body workouts that recruit a lot of muscle. In turn, your body will require more oxygen to fuel those muscles, and therefore burn more calories as a result. This occurs because for every liter of oxygen you consume, your body will burn 5 calories.
Got it?
It’s pretty much as simple as that. At least from an exercise perspective.

appreciate your practical no nonsense information . I am just starting the raw food way to eat so no results yet. My love handles had turned into saddle bags, HA! Thanks for all the free advice. I am 79 and on a sosial security income so iy means alot to me. Thanks, Harold
