My Story
by Yuri in Client Journeys
The Beginning
Since college, I had always worked out, but was still overweight, weighing about 220 lbs. At work, we did a contest to see who could lose the most weight. From this, I lost about 20 lbs. After the contest, I continued to workout, but could not continue the initial weight loss.
I worked out in the gym about five days a week. I lifted weights and did cardiovascular fitness. However, I felt like I was going nowhere because I was not getting in shape.
I did not have a structured program. When I arrived at the gym, I was not sure what I was going to do that day. I had developed strength, but had not lost all of that excess the body fat.
The Change
Finally, I came across the fitness programs that Yuri developed. I started with Treadmill Trainer Volume Three. This helped me to begin to get in better shape and train for a 5K.
Then, I began the Fitter U Fitness program. This program combined cardiovascular fitness with resistance training in a structured sequence.
This was exactly what I needed. No longer was I adrift at the gym. I new exactly what I was going to do that day: how many reps, sets, what weight, and for how long. Most importantly, I was achieving results.
The Results
I saw the changes immediately. I began losing fat, not just weight. My body was finally eliminating the excess fat that it had stored over the years, and my clothes were becoming loose on me.
I was amazed at what I was achieving. I had the belief that I was overweight because that was how I was born. “It’s just the way my body is.”
By following the program, I discovered that this was not true. I could have a more fit body and be at the level of fitness that I wanted to be.
There was also a reciprocal relationship between my exercise and diet. The more I worked out, the better I wanted to eat. The better I ate, my exercise intensity increased.
My health improved in other ways. I used to take about 4-5 anti-acids for heartburn and 5 painkillers for headaches a day. Now, with my new exercise regime and changed diet, the headaches and heartburn have disappeared.
I had struggled with weight loss and balancing work, family, and personal care. Now, I am meeting my health goals and have more energy to do the things I enjoy: ride bikes, go for a hike, and play at the park with my family, allowing me to be more active and involved in their lives and strengthening our relationships.
My advice to anyone desiring a better, healthier life is to first set your goals. What do you want to achieve? Why do you want to achieve it? Then, commit to a training program that incorporates effective, proven methods for achieving your fitness goals, such as Fitter U Fitness.
It’s liberating to know that we have the power within ourselves to make the changes we desire.
What changes do you want to make?
I look forward to sharing my story with you and hearing about your journey.

Sean – I can really relate to your story. I had the same problems losing weight after having kids. I wasn’t “adrift” as you say you were, but I exercised a lot and couldn’t seem to lose any weight. It’s all about intensity as Yuri talks about. I found that out when I did some high intensity weight training earlier this year and continuing on with Yuri’s high intensity interval training programs.
