Avoiding Muscle Burnout

by in Fitness Training

emptyHave you worked and then felt your like you were running on empty? Like you had no gas left in the tank?

I know it’s happened to me a few times and, in my case, it’s often because I’ve worked out in the morning without any food in my system. So part of the muscle burnout could be attributed to quickly depleting glycogen stores.

This makes sense since research has shown that glycogen stores drop by about 50% during the night’s sleep.

But there could also be other factors leading to quickly fatiguing muscles during your workouts.

For instance, recently one of my youtube viewers asked this question…

“Hi Yuri – I have been doing high intensity full body workouts with weights for over a month now. Alternating exercises (not doing the same one day after day).

During the last few sessions i have experienced fast exhaustion and my muscles wouldn’t allow me to continue. It has happened mid way through routines that i used to be able to complete. I am not doing anything differently (same diet, same habits) and am also taking a day of rest between sessions.

Wondering if it has anything to do with lactic acid building up in my muscles during workout or anything like that. It feels as if muscles shut down and just couldn’t keep it up, as i mentioned above, it concerns me because i used to be able to do some number of repetitions and aside from that everything else is alright.

Am i not getting enough oxygen or what could it be?”
